Upcoming Events/Outings

The Vanguard Chapter is excited to announce the return of in-person fly tying sessions and general membership meetings. The fly tying sessions will be held the third Tuesday of the month beginning in September. The sessions will be held at Dinosaur Hill Nature Center (333N. Vanguard Chapter membership meetings will be held in-person at Dinosaur Hill on the second Thursday of each month throughout the fall and winter. Meetings begin at 7:30pm and provide attendees an opportunity to hear about happenings within the chapter as well as around the state which impact TU’s mission of preserving and protecting coldwater fisheries. Each meeting will have a guest speaker and I am pleased to announce the following schedule for this meeting season:

November 9, 2023 - Membership meeting will feature guest speaker Mikela Dean, Watershed Ecologist from Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC). 

December 14, 2023 - Holiday Social at Hamlin Pub -Tienken  (6pm-9pm)

January 11, 2024 -  Art Hirsch – Microplastics in the Great Lakes (virtual meeting via Skype)

February 13, 2024 -  Kristin Thomas – MITU Stream Restoration Director (joint meeting with Clinton Valley TU at Camp Ticonderoga)

March 14, 2024 - Nik Banda – City of Rochester
