Monthly Fly Tying Sessions

The monthly Fly Tying sessions will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Avery’s Tavern @ 7:30PM. Avery’s Tavern is located in the shopping center at the northwest corner of Crooks Road and M-59. Sessions will be about two hours long and will be held monthly. We will not have tying June through August. The next session will be in September. Sessions in November and December may be re-scheduled depending on the holidays. The plan this year is to tie flies that are simple with no more than three (3) materials.

All materials will be provided. Bring your vise and tools if you have them. Our chapter has several sets of tying equipment that can be used by participants. Experienced tyers, total beginners and all experience levels in between are welcome at these sessions. Please stop by and join in the fun!
BRING A FEW BUCKS ($$$) FOR THE 50/50 DRAWING! THIS PAYS FOR THE TYING MATERIALS.

The Vanguard Raffle at the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo is our primary annual fund raiser.
This year's raffle features four drawings with four prizes:
First Drawing is a Weekend for Two at the Riverview Lodge and Cabins (located on the Au Sable River at McMaster Bridge.) This prize was donated by the Riverview Lodge.
Second Second Drawing is for a Guided Float Trip on the AuSable donated by guide Al Borger.
The third prize is a sport Kayak with paddle donated by Larry Butts.
The fourth drawing will be for a framed and matted print donated by the local artist Becca Schlaff.
Tickets are $5.00 each and are eligible for any of the four prizes.
The winners will be drawn on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 3:50 PM at the Macomb Community College Expo Center
