An Opportunity to participate in the MITU River Keepers Program
on Paint Creek
There will be an informational meeting about the Michigan Trout
Unlimited River Keepers Program at the Rochester Hills
Environmental Education Center at 10:00 am on Saturday, February
27. The River Keepers Program is a volunteer stream monitoring
program. The primary goals of the program are to gather data
that will allow us to prioritize stream restoration efforts, and
to provide quality, useable data to the DNRE. MITU Aquatic
Ecologist Kristin Thomas will give a presentation on data needs
and future plans for Paint Creek. The presentation will discuss
the River Keepers Program, existing data on Paint Creek, gaps in
existing data, and how we should use the existing data and data
we collect to protect and restore Paint Creek. Any interested
chapter members are encouraged to attend. Please come and learn
how the Paul H. Young, Vanguard, and Clinton Valley chapters can
work together with the Clinton River Watershed Council to
protect and restore Paint Creek.
When: Saturday February 27 at 10:00 am
Where: Rochester Hills Environmental Education Center
