Membership meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, 333 North Hill Circle, Rochester, MI 48307.

  • January 12th (Thursday) - General Membership Meeting - Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve (333 North Hill Circle, Rochester, Michigan 48307) @ 7:30PM Speaker: Chuck Scribner, Scribner Outfitters and Guide ServiceCANCELED - We just purchased the DVD,Czech Nymphing 101 by Steve Parrott and will be viewing portions of this video at the January meeting. This is the latest craze and you'll enjoy this video explaining how to fish this method successfully.
  • December 8th (Thursday) General Membership Meeting - Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve (333 North Hill Circle, Rochester, Michigan 48307) @ 7:30PM Speaker: Rich MerlinoFly Fishing Manager The Orvis Company-Royal Oak store will give a presentation on Fishing in Belize.
  • November 10th meeting will feature Terry Drinkwine, blogger extraordinaire on terrydrinkwineoutdoors.com, outdoor writer for The Macomb Daily NewsRoyal Oak Daily Tribune, Recording Secretary for Michigan Fly Fishing Club, employee at The Orvis Company-Royal Oak storeRoyal Oak City Commissioner, and a Vanguard Chapter member since 1989! Terry will be talking about fishing the Jordan River. The Jordan River is in the southern part of Charlevoix County and centrally located in Antrim County with salmon, steelhead and resident trout in great numbers. We will also have a short presentation by Tony Palmeri, a middle school science teacher, 7th grade, in the Avondale District. He will tell us about their SIC program.
  • October 13th will feature Jason Davis, author and owner of The Downstream Drift Guide Service to discuss his new book,An Angler's Guide to paint Creek". He'll also be sharing his secrets to fishing Paint Creek, good to know for next season on Paint Creek.
  • September 8th meeting features Jeremy Geist from the CRWC. Jeremy will talk about the pending removal of the Paint Creek Dam & the upcoming SE Michigan TU Chapters work projects & picnic event on Sunday, September 18th.
  • No general membership meeting in August.
  • No general membership meeting in July.
  • June 2nd meeting features Dave Leonhardt, FFF Certified Master Casting Instructor, beginning @ 6:30PM.
  • May 12th meeting features Jim Reed, spinning deer hair fly tyer extraordinaire.
  • The April 14th meeting features Jim Bedford and his presentation, Expanding Your Trout Fishing Horizons.
  • The March 10th meeting featured John Sabina and his presentation, Trout Fishing 101.
  • The February 10th meeting featured Mike Batcke owner of Batcke's Baldwin Creek Lodge
  • The January 13th meeting featured Kelly Neuman of Streamside Custom Rod & Guide Service

Meetings are open to TU members and non-members alike. Please feel free to attend if you are considering joining TU. Just ask any officer and we'll be happy to provide you with information and/or an application.

Meetings begin at 7:30pm and adjourn about 9:30pm. Programs for each meeting are listed on the Calendar of Events page. Each year we bring in renowned guides and fly fishing experts from around the state as well as resource pros who make a living conserving the resources we all enjoy.
